NEWSLETTER         January 09

This newsletter is a forum open for your ideas, questions, suggestions and information.

We have started a bead society here, in Truth or Consequences, NM and in two years we have 44 members. Our town is small but has a surprising amount of talented artisans. We have a business meeting each month and then we have classes held several times a month by different instructors. This way the members have many opportunities to learn different styles and stitching techniques to enhance their beading.

Our bead society also finds outlets like fares, craft shows for the club to be able, as a group to sell the jewelry that they have made. We even have our own local bead show. This helps each of us to show and sell our beaded jewelry. We are making great friends through these outings and club activities. I am so glad to be apart of this group. I have learned so many beading techniques that originally were very hard for me being left handed, so now we even have the beaders available to help the new left handed members.
One member took wire wrapping classes in the city and is now assisting those who want to learn that art.

In small towns or large cities, you can always develop or support your local bead society. It is a great way to learn the craft and make great friends.

Happy Beading.
